Purpose of the visit
To thank the support given by the Brazilian Electoral Justice during the elections of November 1999 in Guinea-Bissau. It was the first popular consultation for the redemocratization of Guinea-Bissau after the civil war. Besides expressing their gratitude, they restated the request for permanent support from the Brazilian Justice to consolidate the redemocratization of Guinea-Bissau.
